Lauren Istanbul'da

This is a blog about a Texan living in Istanbul, Turkey for a year-long Rotary youth exchange. Originally from Lake Jackson, Texas, I've graduated high school and before moving on to the University of North Texas where I'll major in International Studies (peace studies), I've chosen to take a year for growth, experience, cultural awareness, independence, compassion, learning a new language, and an education in becoming a citizen of the world. Here's to a year of adventure and awakening.

We’re at home today. The snow has made it a little risky to venture out of our neighborhood. From what I can tell, Acarkent is the only area in Istanbul getting this much snow.

I’d call this my first snow day. Thumbs up.
