dokuz ay

Today marks my 9th month in İstanbul. It also happens to be my parent’s 21st wedding anniversary. Congrats and I love yall.

Nine months is quite a milestone I suppose, but the number that really stands out for me is the number six. 6 weeks left. I know that these next weeks will be the best. I’ll be with friends and family. I’ll be traveling to many different parts of Turkey, seeing all the beauty and enjoying the sun and the company. And getting plenty of my favorite Turkish food in while I still can. I wish this never had to end.

That being said, I am very excited about seeing my friends and family in Texas again as well. So happy to get life going again. College. Everything. I just wish I didn’t have to choose one over the other. Can’t my two worlds live right next to each other? This would make things much easier for me. Less painful for sure.

It’s got everything to do with the love that’s been weaved in to the relationships I have here. Makes things hard, but so worth it.

And with that, I leave you with a quote from The Princess Bride.

“Life is pain. Anyone who says differently is selling something.” - Wesley, AKA the Dread Pirate Roberts
